Anal Fissure

Definition

Anal Fissure is a small tear in the moist tissue (mucous membrane) of the anal region. Pain and bleeding can be present in bowel movements. It may occur when you pass hard and large stool. It is very common in young infants but affect people of any age.

Symptoms

• Pain after bowel movements that can last for several hours.
• Pain severe during defecation like stitching, cutting or burning.
• Bright red blood on the stool or after stool.
• Visible cracks around the anus.
• Small lump or skin tag on the skin near the anal fissure.

Causes

Anal fissure formed due to some region like :- 

• Passing large or hard stool.
• Constipation & straining during motion.
• Chronic Diarrhoea.
• Anal Intercourse.
• Child birth, Anal cancer and HIV Infection.
• Syphilis & Tuberculosis.
