Definition
Jaundice is a condition in which white of the eyes, skin & mucous membranes turn yellow because of a high level of bilirubin. Normally it indicated the problem in liver or bile duct. Many infants born affected by jaundice.

Prehepatic :-
In prehepatic Jaundice haemolysis occurs & Haemoglobin converted into bilirubin. Common causes of prehepatic jaundice are Malaria, sickle cell anaemia, spherocytosis, thalassemia.
Hepatic :-
It happens when your liver tissue damaged or dysfunctional, like cirrhosis of liver, missing hepatitis, primary biliary cirrhosis, alcohol hepatitis, leptospirosis, liver cancer.
Post Hepatic Jaundice :-
Post Hepatic Jaundice or Obstructive Jaundice happens when bilirubin can't be drained properly into the bile duct or digestive tract. The most common causes are gallstone, pancreatic cancer, bile duct cancer, pancreatitis, biliary atresia.
Neonatal Jaundice :-
It happens to new born. It is due to the liver is not fully developed.Types of Neonatal Jaundice :-It can be physiological, prematurity of baby, breast feeding(Not getting enough breast milk) & incompatible blood type.
