Sinusitis

Definition

When inflammation occurs inside the sinuses due to infection, growth(Nasal polyps) in the sinuses. Sign & symptoms includes nasal obstruction, difficulty in breathing, pain and swelling around your nose, cheeks or forehead. Condition can affect both adults & children.

Causes

Usually caused by virus, bacteria or rarely fungus may cause a sinus infection. Other condition allergies, nasal polyps, throat infection can also contributes sinus pain. Deviated nasal septum & other medical condition like cystic fibrosis, HIV & other immune system disorder. Other respiratory tract infection like cold.

Symptoms

• Thick discharge from the nose.
